Wooden Clothespin Dolls - Young Lovers?
Offered today are two 4" Clothespin dolls on a platform.  I think clothespin dolls have been made since they invented clothespins.  I know I had one when I was a child many, many years ago.  This doll is made  so well I had to see if anyone out there appreciated the work put into the making of these neat dolls.
This doll stands on a green painted platform with green felt underneath on the bottom. The artist name listed is Peggity Anne's.
The girl wears a blue dress with white dots.  A white apron covers a porton of the dress.  Puffed sleeves covers her poseable arms and finishes the dress. Underneath the dress she wears pantaloons with lace trim.  Under her arm she holds a scottie dog and at her feet is a doll in a cradle.  The cradle is blue instead of pink. The hair appears to be made from yellow crochet thread.  She has two braids tied with blue ribbons.
The boy wears brown pants and a brown and white checked long sleeve shirt. A braid of tan crochet thread is used a suspenders to hold his pants in place. He has pose-able arms. His arms holds a bouquet of flowers behind his back. He sports fairly short carrot colored hair.
They are hand painted.  She is a flirt as she winks at the freckled boy beside her.  They are both obviously happy with big broad smiles.  Her black boots are accented with white painted buttons while he sports brown boots with tan laces
A lot of detail went into the making of these interesting dolls.  They are much better than any I ever had.
I have no idea as to her age.
They are certainly interesting dolls and if you collect dolls you may want to include one of these in your collection.
