    Charming simple doll is made of wood and dressed in a German folk costume. Her simple painted features include blue eyes that seem to look up at you. Her body is all wood. Her arms and legs are jointed and move but are limited by her clothing. Her head is not jointed. She wears a white blouse with a floral print scarf. Her skirt is red with a sheer apron. Her waist is cinched with a lace-up belt.
    Although this doll has no branding or labels she matches the characteristics of a Lotte Sievers-Hahn Waldorf type doll. A Waldorf doll is based on the principles of Rudolph Steiner's School started in 1919 in Stuttgart Germany. Their goal was to develop a healthy sense of self through creative play and imagination. Waldorf dolls are typically handmade of natural materials. Early Sievers-Hahn dolls could be made as early as 1929.
